Yongcao Zhang is a dedicated PhD student specializing in the field of Materials Science and Engineering. Currently in the third year of the doctoral program, Yongcao is a member of the OMEGA research group, where his primary focus lies in the intricate realm of self-assembly semiconducting nanofibers. His research endeavors encompass understanding the fundamental interactions and dynamic processes that underlie the self-assembly of organic semiconductors.
Yongcao's current projects delve into the fascinating world of tuning various donor-acceptor conjugated polymers (D-A CPs) into nanofiber microstructures. This innovative approach holds significant promise for the development of stretchable electronics, pushing the boundaries of what is achievable in the realm of flexible electronic devices. His work not only involves controlling the morphology of polymers but also explores the broader applications of nanofiber microstructures, particularly in the domains of wearable technology and flexible electronic devices.
Before embarking on his PhD journey, Yongcao earned a Master of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, in 2018. Prior to that, he completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Polymer Materials and Engineering at the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), Beijing, China, in 2016. With a strong educational foundation and a passion for cutting-edge research, Yongcao Zhang is poised to make significant contributions to the evolving landscape of materials science and its applications in electronic devices.
