Dr. Yuming Jin is a joint Ph.D. student in Omegalab. With a background in Materials Science and Engineering from Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen, China, Yuming's expertise centers on Molecular Diagnosis, Electrochemical Biosensors, Capacitive Sensors, Portable Microfluidic Devices, and Nanofabrication technologies. Currently, Yuming is utilizing electrochemical techniques and peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) to detect microRNAs at low concentrations in clinical samples. The research's far-reaching implications include enhancing microRNA detection, thereby contributing to early disease detection, monitoring treatment response, and fostering the growth of personalized medicine.
Throughout the academic journey, Yuming served as a Research Assistant in Materials Science and Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology from 2020 to 2021, laying the groundwork for the innovative work being pursued today.
Yuming's overarching goal is to craft highly sensitive, selective, and cost-effective biosensing platforms tailored for clinical applications. By dedicating unwavering efforts to this transformative project, Yuming aspires to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare landscape, ultimately striving to improve patient outcomes and advance the realm of precision medicine.
